Hello Everyone,
Sorry that I've been MIA recently but I've been totally wrapped up in perfecting 3D paper piecing techniques.
Well, I say perfecting, I think that it's far from perfect yet but . . . I am pleased with my progress in a very short space of time.
I've made 3 toppers now using this technique and I thought that I'd show you the beautiful Rosetta from Wee Stamps first . . . as soon as I saw her I knew I had to buy her even thought I'd sworn to myself that I wouldn't buy any more :)
I've been trying to follow the paper piecing technique that Mariska van der Veer uses on her cards. It takes me a long time to work out how the pieces should fit together though and I haven't got the right pen to colour the white paper edges yet but I love it!!!
The topper in progress, you can see the areas that are still to be completed are black, this gives a nice base for the pieces laid on top. I couldn't wait to use Frantage for the first time either and I love it too!
The card was made from a 8" x 8" white scalloped card blank from Craft UK Limited. The DPs are from First Edition Spring Feast and Love Letters ( I bought these from The Range some time ago now), the colours blend so well together.
I hand stitched around all the layers for the card in gold metallic embroidery thread.
Hopefully you can see the dimension of the topper on this photo.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts from my collection that I haven't used for a while.
The sentiment banner and gold corner peel offs are from my stash.
I've used the sketch from this week's Sketch and Stash to guide my layout.
I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
