Wow, I must have been asleep to trends for a long time . . . when did Baby Showers make their way from over the pond??
Recently my daughter asked me to make a baby shower card for her friend, well at first I didn't have a clue and pondered on it for a long time but do you know what . . . I really enjoyed making this one . . . so much fun!
The DPs are from First Edition "Up, Up and Away"
This paper stack is perfect for baby boy cards with it's light and airy feel pale blues and greens, plus it's heavily glittered.
You really can't go wrong.
The image is a very old Precious Moments stamp, it was one of the first rubber stamps I bought, you know the kind that is mounted on half a tree trunk, lol!
So glad that times have changed and acrylic stamps came along.
I coloured it up with Copic markers and applied lots of Glamour Dust with my trusty Quickie Glue Pen.
I stamped the image out a couple of times so that I could 3D paper piece the vine leaves and flowers. I pierced the paper with a pokey tool and hand-stitched with a blue metallic thread.
I think that the dimension is a wee bit clearer on this picture.
The word "BABY" was cut out of one of the paper sheets, there's a whole page of heavily glittered alphabets. I stamped the word "shower" in ColorBox chalk ink in Light Blue and again applied Glamour Dust over the top. I used a stamp from the new Home to Nest range from Docrafts "Tags & String", very handy and bang on trend still as bunting doesn't seem to be over yet.
The inside of the card was decorated to match the front design
Again I hand-stitched around the Spellbinders cut out and bottom mat layer.
The upper mat of DP was given a punched edge using a Fiskars punch called "Notebook"
The theme was carried through right to the back of the card where my maker's seal was applied.
I'm entering this card into:
Simply Create Too Challenge #36 - All About Babies
Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge - Dies and/or Punches
The ABC Challenge - M for Make it Sparkle (lots of Glamour Dust used!)
