I love the shabby chic look that's been popular forever . . . but I've never really had the confidence to try really try it though.
Well here's my first attempt at it and also one of my first attempts at colouring an image with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
It looks pretty grungy doesn't it? IRL though the Stickles Stardust glue pretties it up quite a lot.
I ripped the top layer of DP at an angle and made a little pocket with it behind the topper in which I put a Magnolia die cut Bloomy Tag complete with narrow satin ribbon.
The inside was decorated to match the front
I used TH Distress Ink to colour the Magnolia Tilda image. I hand stitched the edge of the Spellbinder's oval with gold thread and masked off the image to distress the background too.
I used a Pearl Pen to create the little pearl embellishments around Tilda.
I made all of the embellishment on the card myself. The flowers were made using Tonic Petal Pairs punches, the heart is made using a Martha Stewart Lattice Heart punch and distressed and decorated with tiny AB crystals.
Here's what the card looks like with the Bloomy Tag removed from it's pocket.
The shabby chic theme was carried through all the way throughout the card including the back and my maker's seal.
