Exciting news for all you card-makers out there . . . a brand new weekly challenge is launching today and I think it's something very different.
It's the first challenge blog (to my knowledge anyway) to spotlight many different card making styles all in one place.
Here's how House of Cards works --- there will be a monthly sketch or colour scheme given which covers all 4 weeks. Each week, we will ask entrants to enter a specific card making style.
If there is a 5th week within a calendar month, it will be any card making style goes but with a photo inspiration.
Here's how the card making styles will run:
Week 1: Fun and Cute
Week 2: Clean and Simple
Week 3: Classic and Elegant
Week 4: Shabby and Vintage
Week 5: Your Favourite Style + Photo Inspiration
To get things started there's a colour scheme theme for the month of July
Use at least 3 of the colour chips in your card |
And it's the "Fun and Cute" House of Cards Design Team who have the honour of inspiring you this week.
I used my new Sizzix Album, Accordian Flip 3-D die #658035 and Sizzix Frame and Label, Bracket 658037, both by Karen Burniston (such a very talented lady) for the very first time.
Take a look at Karen's YouTube channel and you will know what I mean.
I cut out 3 of the base die cut shapes and followed the very simple instructions to link them together
I coloured up a Mo Mannings image called Big Shoes with Copic markers.
I used a Martha Stewart punch to create both the little butterfly and flower embellishments from the paper scraps to dot around the framework. I used a white gel pen to colour the centres and edges to give some contrast.
The floral paper is from Kanban.
Red and teal cardstock from The Paper Mill.
The word "Love" was made using Forever Friends adhesive, chipboard letters.
I used a red fineliner pen to run faux stitching around the edges and then added Glamour Dust.
I hope that you will enjoy joining in the challenges at
House of Cards
Please stop by and look at what my fellow teamies created, you won't be disappointed.
Thanks for visiting
