Colour Me Happy

I was asked just before Christmas to make a birthday card for a lady who likes bright colour.  I generally don't do colour, not that is if you don't count black as a colour, colour scares me, lol.

Anyway as this was for a December birthday I decided I would keep to largely Christmas colours . . . it just seemed right and I already had this sweet little Magnolia Tilda coloured in.

I decided that I would have a go at a twisted easel card too . . . I'd never tried this type of card before and I must say that I like it a lot.

The image was coloured with my usual Copic markers and I used Spellbinders large classic oval and scalloped oval dies to create the topper.

The background card for the box and all of the matting layers was from Kanban.  The mirror board was from Create and Craft.

I used a Tonic border punch to create a punched strip through which I threaded some thin red grosgrain ribbon and finished it with a small bow.

The sentiment was stamped using a Hunkydory clear stamp.

The card was finished with some glittered WOC red and yellow/green roses layered onto some punched out foliage pieces.

A matching box completed the project, made with Kanban cardstock.

I'm entering this into the following challenges

Tilda's Town Challenge #34 - Anything Goes
Magnolia Down Under Challenge #178 - Anything Goes
Magnolia-licious Highlites Jan 2013 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
